A female food vendor in New York City was attacked and robbed of hundreds of dollars by a rival vendor during a dispute over territory in Central Park on Tuesday, as reported by the police and sources.
The victim, a 24-year-old woman operating a food stand, informed authorities that a 38-year-old female vendor slashed her at 63rd Street and Center Drive in Manhattan around 1:30 p.m., according to the NYPD and sources.
The altercation, which occurred in a busy Central Park on an unusually warm day, resulted in the perpetrator stealing $500 from her competitor during the turf conflict, sources disclosed.
The suspect, along with her husband and son, fled on foot through Heckscher Park, as reported by WABC.
Reportedly, the two vendors had a previous altercation on Christmas Eve, during which the woman who was attacked on Tuesday was the initial aggressor.
Emergency Medical Services transported the 24-year-old victim to Weill Cornell Medical Center in stable condition, according to the police.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and the incident remains under investigation.
