Netherlands synagogue targeted in overnight fire attack under police investigation

Dutch authorities have launched an investigation into an arson attack on a synagogue in Rotterdam on Friday. This incident is the latest in a series of suspected antisemitic acts since the commencement of the US-Israeli conflict with Iran.

The fire at the synagogue, which occurred around 3:40 a.m., was quickly extinguished, and fortunately, no injuries were reported. Rotterdam police are currently seeking any witnesses who may have information related to the incident, urging them to come forward.

In a separate incident, a synagogue in Belgium, located 124 miles away, was targeted by an explosion earlier in the week, also believed to be motivated by antisemitism. While this attack caused property damage, no individuals were harmed.

Meanwhile, in the United States, a US citizen of Lebanese descent rammed his truck into a synagogue and its preschool in Michigan before being fatally shot. These incidents have raised concerns about the safety of Jewish communities globally, particularly in light of the escalating tensions between the US, Israel, and Iran, prompting fears of potential retaliatory attacks.
