AOC's Campaign Spends $2,000 on Celebrity Makeup Artist, Sparking Outrage

Far-left Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, known for once showcasing her makeup skills on Instagram, spent over $2,000 last fall to hire a celebrity makeup artist whose clientele includes Bad Bunny and Bella Hadid.

According to Federal Election Commission records, on November 5, her campaign paid The Only Agency $670 for makeup services at a campaign event, followed by payments of $693.08 and $665 for hair and makeup services on different occasions.

The agency's prices begin at $600 for hair and makeup services. One event Ocasio-Cortez attended after getting glammed up was a get-out-the-vote rally for Mayor Mamdani in Queens on October 26, alongside Senator Bernie Sanders.

Makeup artist Jocelyn Biga, who worked on Ocasio-Cortez's look for the rally, shared on Instagram about the experience, praising the congresswoman's stage presence and conviction. Ocasio-Cortez's makeup included a smokey brown eye, subtle red lip, and well-groomed eyebrows.

Apart from the rally, Ocasio-Cortez was seen at the Eugene Debs award banquet for Sanders in Indiana on October 25 and Mamdani's election night victory party in Brooklyn on November 4.

The Republican National Committee criticized Ocasio-Cortez for spending extravagantly on makeup despite advocating for taxing the wealthy. Most candidates typically spend around $100 to $200 on hair and makeup, with a top-rated salon in Forest Hill charging significantly less for similar services.

This marked the first time Ocasio-Cortez reported campaign expenses for professional hair and makeup, although she had previously faced scrutiny for accepting costly hair and makeup services during the Met Gala in 2021.

Ocasio-Cortez's campaign and The Only Agency did not respond to requests for comment on the recent expenses.
