Alabama woman accused of touching passengers' faces and punching elderly travelers on Caribbean flight

An Alabama woman's Caribbean vacation took a frightening turn on Monday when she allegedly assaulted two elderly passengers, leading to an emergency landing.

Ebony Shyteria Harper, a 31-year-old woman who stands at just 4 feet 11 inches, is now facing legal consequences after a dispute escalated to physical violence at 30,000 feet on Frontier flight 2089 from Puerto Rico to Atlanta.

The incident began when Harper, en route to the restroom, encroached on a fellow passenger, Jimmie Lee Baker, by leaning on him in the rear of the aircraft. Baker requested that Harper move away, but instead of complying, she touched his face, prompting his wife, Lakisha Baker, to intervene.

Lakisha also became a target of Harper's alleged aggression as she too was touched on the face. A physical altercation ensued, involving punches exchanged between the women. Another passenger, Annette Baker, attempted to intervene but ended up being struck by Harper multiple times in the face.

The flight was diverted to Miami International Airport, where law enforcement officials awaited to escort Harper off the plane. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident.

Although the victims did not sustain visible injuries, they expressed a desire to press charges against Harper, who is now charged with felony battery on elderly individuals and misdemeanor battery. Harper is currently detained at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

Fox News Digital has reached out to Frontier Airlines for a statement regarding the incident.
